I saved so many I thought my boyfriend was going to kick me out...I would be happy to pass some along with out an exchange if anyone is interested. I have so many that I will not use. I will try to pull together a detailed list in the next few days.
I've got plenty of store bought heirloom seeds so it would be like sending LOTS of seeds if you save what comes off of them. :-) If that interests anyone count me in. We just moved so haven't gotten the garden area up yet hence the reason for store bought this year.
I'm in the middle of seed inventory and this is what I KNOW I have to share/swap or whatever.
Gannon Pea - this is an heirloom cowpea that has been grown in our area by the, you guessed it, Gannon family. It's very flavorful...similar to a crowder pea x black eyed pea. You can save seed from it all day long. Likes to be planted so air can circulate; grown as a bush bean by most of the folks around but grows BETTER if allowed to run up something.
Mammoth Dill - exactly that
Japanese Vining Cukes - you can find the info at seedsavers.org These are prolific producers and LOVE the trellis. Very flavorful, large cukes
Bull Nose Bell Peppers - these were grown at Monticello. My seed originally came from seedsavers.org These peppers produced bushels off of 9 plants last year. It got to the point I had no room for more - lots of our friends would just swing by and pick what they wanted. Very flavorful
Yellow Plum tomato - I haven't tried these yet; seedsavers sent them to me b/c they love me so much (love my credit card). I will be starting some indoors in a couple of weeks but probably only 1/2 dozen...more than happy to share the rest of the packet.
I've also got a variety of seed potatoes - fingerlings, purples, etc. but I can't guarantee the varieties...might make me whiny to have to package and send those out but I'm not saying I won't do it! Something about serving purple potatoes...
Give me a shout if you want anything. Not much to offer/share but might have more once I get my ducks in a row better.
