    Default Repair web reins?

I just purchased a lot of tack from a friend who is getting out of riding. In the lot came a brand new set of Stubben web reins that had been almost chewed (effin rats) all the way through in one spot on the web and one part of a leather "stubby" (the little leather pieces in between the web sections.) Is it possible to repair this? They are gorgeous and unused other wise.

I don't know the reins, but could you sew a patch piece on each side of the chew spot to hold it? Might not be pretty, but it would be functional.

Thank you, I'm going to see of my tack lady can fix it, she is difficult to get a hold of and I didn't want to waste my chance on something that maybe couldn't be fixed. I'm going to try it! :-)
