Several of us will be attending a horse show this weekend. It is just a schooling show, but it is kind of a big deal to us and it is something we all look forward to all year. (Especially since it is English and Western together.)
I wanted to do something fun for the others attending and make them a "grab bag". I thought I could make a cute bag with their names on it and fill it with some fun goodies. This would lead you to believe I am crafty. I am in my head but we shall see about the actual end product.
I was thinking some leather wipes, hair ties, snacks, treats....
If you were to get something like this what would you want to find in the bag?
Hair nets, horse treats, people treats, the leather wipes are a GREAT idea, maybe a little picture frame from the dollar store (for the show pics that come later in the day, of course), lint roller, stain stick etc etc etc.
They have grab bags at one of the trail rides I went to, and they had peppermints, key chains, coupons from some of the vendors that were set up there, and pens. It was a breast cancer ride, so they also had self exam brochures and things like that.
horse treats in colorful cellophane tied up in bundles- or tied in a bow with haystring
post-its and a pen
if there are young girls, clear picture frames decorated with the show name to put pictures in afterward.
A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking. (Steven Wright)
I always seem to loose scissors, right when I need them. Even a cheap pair of little ones would be helpful. Maybe a bit of dark yarn or shoelace for numbers, in case the show doesn't provide it.
Definitely chapstick, kleenex, hand warmers, and some peppermints. Maybe a granola bar in flavor that could either be a horse treat or a person treat--my mare particularly likes the oat&honey Nature Valley ones, so those always get shared Spare hair ties and hairnets are always good, too.
I have a really fantastic microfiber car wiper thing I got at Target that works great as a last minute dust wipe before entering the ring. I don't remember them being particularly expensive, and came in a multi-pack.
