I simply am a FAN, plain and simple.

Whenever anyone brings up this stallion, I'm always anxious to chime in on how nice his get are, etc.

Now I have first hand experience with one of his children that is here at Otteridge Farm for my daughter to break. He's three this year, STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL with a puppy-dog personality.

If I weren't a pony breeder, I'd RUSH my best mare to him in a hot second to get her bred. He's simply awesome and frequently overlooked.

I can't wait! I am hoping that since he's 15.3 and my mare is 15.1, I will have my fancy 15 handish hunter. I am 5'1" with short legs, and don't want to have to carry my own step ladder anymore. My mare is the last foal that I raised and she will be 11 this year.

The Jupiters are amazing jumpers and their dispositions are a delight. We are breeding to him in 2013 with our AHS and AHHA MMB approved TB mare. We have a 16.3 H Jupiter gelding (also out of a TB mare) we have had since 6 months of age who we adore. He does occasionally throw a tall baby if the mare is tall which was the case with our gelding. But typically he throws 15.3 to 16 H.

You may. He's 15.3. However, what height is behind your mare? That factors in (and behind Jupiter as well).

Our 16.3 H Jupiter gelding is out of a big boned 17 H TB mare. Our 15.3 H Jupiter daughter was out of a 16 H TB mare. That is our experience to date. We are planning a 2013 breeding using a 16.1 H TB mare who throws large - typically 16.3 H to 17.2 H regardless of sire's height.

my last horse was by him, out of a thoroughbred mare. for the poster above, i don't know what his dam looked like, but my old boy was just about 16.1hh and very thick. he bore incredible similarities to jupiter, but once again, without seeing the dam i can't say how much influence either parent had. he moved nicely, was scopey, and when he was 'on' he was really 'on'.

the only drawback was that he had tiny legs in comparison to how big-bodied he was, and i think the weight they bore put some extra stress on them. jupiter has big, thick legs, so i'd say that was a trait inherited from the dam's side.

if was i was looking to breed for a hunter, or perhaps purchase another, i'd definitely look into the jupiter line again!

The Jupiter we have here is absolutely lovely! He's not officially three until later in April. He is definitely a strip horse and a wonderful mover; I'm sure the jump is there as every single Jupiter offspring I've seen is super scopey!
