    Default Key To The Mint?

A friend just bought a lovely mare who is a grand daughter of Key To The Mint. The name rings a bell, but I wondered if anyone could tell me a little about him, or might even have known him. We would appreciate any info!

The Paul Mellon (Rokeby) bred runner did quite well - Key To The Mint - as a racer:

And finished 3rd in the 1972 Preakness Stakes.

You can get more information about him (and see a picture of him) here:

He was a beautiful horse and IIRC, he had a nice disposition too.

Thanks! Wasn't he a gorgeous fellow?

And I see he goes back to a 1908 mare named "Blue Tit"! I take it that is after the bird species?
