taken from Eurodressage..."Matthias Rath tries out a new warm up strategy in a ring exclusively reserved for him and protected by bodyguards. No level field of play for this horse. He gets exceptional treatment from start to finish while the rest of the pack warms up in the designated arena next to the show ring." " There are two warm up rings in Hagen which all dressage riders are allowed to use as preparation before going into the show ring.
As soon as Totilas appeared for his warm up, all other riders were asked to leave the ring and warm up in the other arena so that Totilas had an arena to his own. The ring steward was assigned to keep spectators a bit at bay..
It was very sad to see this preferential treatment happening here and I can't believe the FEI would endorse this at a CDI event (there surprisingly was also NO bit check after the Grand Prix at Hagen. How can that be?!)
^^This from Eurodressage via Alicen's cited thread above.
Alagirl, "It popped up under abuse" ? It popped up where under abuse?
somebody linked a video in OC, a guy just whipping the snot out of some poor horse, flipping it over a couple of times...you know the other videos youtube offers you at the end? there it was.
I thought wonders what this guy was going to do to the poor creature...then it was that he didn't give him enough scratches....oh my!
but since it's now confirmed who it is, I understand fully why it was labeled 'abusive'
