Default 5 year old TB still growing ?

My 5 year old OTTB that will be 6 next month seems to be growing again. I thought he was done last summer but his hind end is a bit higher, again. He looks more balanced now but how long do TBs grow ?

Thanks, we went through a long rainy period so I have not had him in the cross ties for about 6 weeks and I noticed his hind end being taller.

I felt as though my TB finally stopped growing and started filling out at age 7. Not terribly uncommon to have a later growth spurt. Some are slower than others but I can't imagine him growing much after age 6/7.

My one was not done until halfway through his 7th year...the others by 6 and a half or so...

My then-5 y/o TB measured a touch over 16 hands in Feb '12. He now is still a few months from truly being 6 yrs old, and is a solid 16.2. Hasn't filled out much yet, although I've noticed his chest is wider and beefier than it was in last spring/summer.

Thanks, I guess I was not understanding the differences in individual horses. My older guy is the same identical horse as when I started riding him at 6. Live and learn...

Oh yes. My just-turned 5-yo went from 16.1 to 16.3 since Sept. rather weedy, too!

Rue didn't stop growing until he was 7-ish. My baby horse is five this year and he's still growing too.

My horse didn't grow height wise (15.3 since he was 4), but he did go up two blanket sizes during the 6 to 7 year.
