Oh No! Not Another Naming Thread! This One Is A Little Different...
Ok...I know everyone gets sick of these naming threads, but I thought the COTHers might be able to figure the perfect name for my new mare. Her name right now is "Honey BooBoo." I cannot emphasize how much I hate that show. I need a show name as well as a barn name.
Here is the catch. I am a Criminology graduate student. I want a name that is a bit unique or meaningful. Something with a criminology or psychological theme....and something catchy.
I was thinking of names like:
"My Happy Place"
"Perfect Therapy"
"Better Than Prozac"
"Antidepressant"
One I really like is "Institutional Anomie" which is a criminology theory regarding a lack of social norms, which is totally me. I was afraid that would be hard to pronounce at shows. Another one I was playing with was "Sublimation" which is a defense mechanism where socially unacceptable impulses or idealizations are consciously transformed into socially acceptable actions or behavior. I love the theme of that one.
Anyone have any fun or different ideas? I love the names at shows that stand out and make me smile.

I'm seriously considering showing Willow as "Herself"... but think about that one... hehe.
Cute horse, I like Sublimation. Her barn name could be something totally different. Tin is always a fun one for gray horses.

Mr. Frugal is a lawyer and we've always threatened to name a foal Champerty. Barn name would be Champ, of course!
They don't call me frugal for nothing.

I have thought to call some horse at times Sublimation, as in dry ice changing to vapor.
I think it can mean going from solid to ethereal, good name for a jumper.
I think it is a very nice name for any horse and may suit that grey mare.

One of my favorite legal terms is "Arbitrary and Capricious." I always remind my children that I reserve the right to be completely arbitrary and capricous in all my decision making. "Wanton and Willful" is a good criminal law term.
I do like Sublimation.

Mens Rea but the anouncer would probably screw that up also. You could spell it "Ray" or "Rhea." Honey Boo Boo has to go! That really is nauseating.

Wow! Really great suggestions! Thanks so much! I like Sublimation a lot...thought of a new one on the drive home: "Partner in Crime."
