Default Registry options for this mare?

What are the registry options for a mare of unknown pedigree on the dam's side? Sire is known but no breeding certificate is available. Previous owner that might have pedigree info has not been able to be reached. I believe that ISR will accept her in the pre mare book with an acceptable score - anyone else? What will her foals be eligible for? Thank you!

OHBS/GOV has in the past accepted mares with unprovable pedigrees into its lowest mare book, as long as the mare is good sport horse type and she is bred to or has a foal at side by a stallion approved by OHBS/GOV. As an example, we have a breeder in this area with a homebred mare that was never registered. She is *mostly* TB, but her damline is believed to have some Marsh Tacky a few generations back. This is a *really* nice mare who easily scored high enough for Main Mare Book, but could only go into the lowest mare book (pre-mare book II). However, her foals by approved stallions were given regular Oldenburg registration papers - the papers clearly specify the dam's mare book status, and the dam's side of the pedigree is blank (they show the dam's name, but nothing else). As an aside, this mare has had very lovely foals - some of whom have earned a Foal of Distinction award. And just to clarify - foals from these mares are not eligible for regular foal premium awards, colts are not eligible for stallion status, and it will take 4 generations for a filly descendant to make it to Main Mare Book (fillies by approved stallions can move up one book per generation).

Are you asking for registration options or breeding approval options? Those are two different answers. If you don't have a breeding certificate and/or the stallion is not approved with a WB registry, then your registration options are limited. AWS will put her in their lowest books if she meets performance standards. PHR will register her. As far as I know, that is it.

If you are talking BREEDING approval, then you have Old/ISR, RPSI, AWS, and perhaps some of the other WB registries. As already noted, with unknown bloodlines, in lowest books. If she meets inspection score criteria.

Thank you, both. I was interested in both registry and approval options, so all of this info is helpful.
