    Default Branding Sheep

Anyone's pet sheep been branded yet? Found this article on another site.

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...iley-face.html

I figured if they were doing it to the sheep, ponies and horses are probably the next victims! Sure would make me get eyestrain, opening them so wide at finding that in the morning!!

I saw something about that the other day. It's some sort of marketing plan for a new roller coaster and that is the logo. I think the farmers were in on it.

ugh that is awful, it probably won't wash out and I bet that wool is used.

If I was selling to a handspinning market, I would be angryi!

Oh for heaven's sake - there's no way any farmer wouldn't be aware that this was being done to their flocks. Does anyone have any idea of the time this would take? Sheep having to be grabbed, thrown or stocked, & then sprayed? Good grief. Definitely some marketing gimmick that the farmers are in on & most likely did themselves. Shame about the fleeces, but it's quite possible the ink used was the same as used for ram markers, in which case it should wash out.

The farmers probably got paid more for the advertising than they would have for the fleeces! Or they threw it in with the belly wool after clipping the paint out...it wouldn't be that hard to shear around it.

Found the article here. Doesn't go into much detail though.
