I have been going through some old riding clothes and I have lots of gently used show shirts, breeches, and coats that I don't wear anymore. I would like to donate them but not sure if there is an organization that exists for this. Can someone steer me in the right direction? Thanks!
There is an organization in Sacramento, CA that allows inner city, low socioequinomic status kids to ride and compete in hunter/jumper and eventing shows. They have to fund raise for everything outside of their lessons and all of their lessons are free in exchange for care of the horses. They count on people from the community to donate money for their classes and show clothes and everything. They have some really good riders who really care about the horses. They could always use things. They are a great organization. I personally know them and their horses always look great and their kids are always super grateful. Check them out.
They are called Horses, Hope, Healing. They are a non profit so I think that you can get a tax write off too. Most of their horses are rescues too
We used to maintain (in our horse trailer) a huge inventory of nice show clothes that kids at a military boarding barn could borrow if they wanted to go off to a horse show. We would just ask them to clean / press the items upon return. You could always lend them out as needed? Or give to a lesson barn? Or donate to a local rescue who could then sell them for $$ ?
