Here's mine. 2010 Half-Arabian (or, half elephant) Gelding ... can you guess the other half?! lol. I misjudged his measurement in the past, but he's currently 14.1HH right now. Dad was around 14.2, mom was around 14.1.

I lightly started him in the fall with a total of 3 light rides, 1/4 in an arena and 3/4 on short, flat trails, then gave him 3 months to relax and grow up a little more.. I think he grew outwards

I have a Fjord/TB cross. Pics at my blog below he only got the TB brain and sensitivity to bugs, in every other way he's all Fjord!

2 of my most favoritist breeds...appies and fjords! Mother Nature always knows when she gets something right...she makes sure it keeps on keeping on. Hard to breed for an Appy or Fjord cross and not have the result be very appy or fjord. (not just looks)

I'd post mine...but at my house I'm the "off type"...not my horses. I have 2 ranch bred/ranch broke QHs here. I'm a jumper rider.

(still trying to figure out how that happened, LOL!)

Gotta admit that these ranch horses are *fun* though! Nothing like the more commonly seen (around here anyway) halter or wp AQHA. Tough handy little buggers, good solid brains, weird sense of humor. And pretty athletic. We're just learning to speak the same language still.

My profile pic shows my off-breed masterpiece. No idea of her breeding. She was a PMU foal so... Out of Canada, by Trailer? I surmise that her spots do NOT indicate a Paint parent because there is no indication of stock horse in her. I think of her as spotted Saddlebred X Cheval Canadien.

Feet like dinner plates but so nimble she could dance on the head of a pin! Also smarter than any animal I've ever met, smarter than many people I've met. I just wish I could have a conversation and/or a beer with her. Love her to pieces!

The Dutch WB Samber line is usually pinto. His dam was a bay arab with no chrome.

Since he is a WB crossed with an Arab = I call him my "Warmer Blood"

lol, nope! His dam was off a meat truck. Said to be reg'd appy but came with no papers, and his dad's a purebred Arabian.

I've posted before answering topics like this one; so, I will spare the pictures. I have Welsh cobs. One is downhill, short-necked, sway-backed and virtually just not "ideal" but his heart and engine make up for the rest. He helped me earn my silver medal this year. I've racked up some Dover medals as well with he and my 13 hand section C welsh cob gelding, who most feel just doesn't move or has the quality to make it worth it (but obviously I don't agree). I actually have a whole herd of welsh cobs - section Ds and Cs and though they aren't considered bred for the sport, I do have a stallion, breed a couple of mares and intend to show the foals in DRESSAGE

My draft cross pony

I found him via one of the CL threads on here. About a week after seeing his picture, I was trailering him home -- and it's unheard of for me to buy horses that quickly. Especially ones that are all hairy.

But he is such a pocket pony, and he can really move when he wants to -- a surprising amount of suspension in his trot and he'll do flying changes on straight lines on his own.

He'll start under saddle sometime this spring/summer, and we'll aim towards dressage to start with. If he takes to jumping, we'll try "wave at the jumps as you pass by"-level eventing (about as much as my heart can take, I think).

I have no idea how competitive we'll be, but OMG I can't wait to get him going. He is going to be fun.

Here lately I have been having a hard time with his crappy halter bred feet holding up his giant mass in between jumps. He just wasn't built for this kind of work so I think I'm going to have to slow it down and just make him a trail horse
