I have a 3 yo old and a 1 year old out of Honor Glide and was sorry to see him go. He and my mare made the prettiest babies! It was nice to see him in a working picture.

Live for Today, according to his PQ page: Pulled up & vanned off in the Albany Stakes on 8/22/2012 at Saratoga. The injury was unrepairable & he was euthanized at Cornell University. RIP

Ah, you're right. Must have missed a line when I looked at the chart. Sad that any horse had to be vanned off that day.

This, yes. I am always sad to see this as i always suspect the outcome is not good (even though i know it can be okay and being vanned off was precautionary).

Key Contender -- wow. Possibly the most beautiful horse I've ever seen with the exception of my own horse. He was GORGEOUS.

Key Contender was lovely. Years ago I posted to see if he had ever had any go on to eventing careers. Those who had his sons and daughters had nothing except positives to say about him.

Running Stag was one of my favorites. He flopped here as a sire, got sent to Korea, and is dead three years later. He can't have been 20. He had everything that American racing doesn't want but sport horse people do.

Millennium Wind was magnificent. I saw him win the Bluegrass Stakes so many years ago and have never forgotten him.

So many beauties, and so many who died so young. The German mare Borgia has to be one of the loveliest horses I've ever seen in a photograph.

Thanks for the link, BL takes the most special shots. The one of Millionreasonswhy breaks my heart, he looked ill in that picture. Love the pensioners, they have the sweetest faces.

Edit to add: tb's have really nice frames, I guess people that think they are weedy have never seen a good one.
