Jingles for the best pony ever today!
Jelly, one of my 12 year old student's best friend, is going for surgery today. He came in with a little cut last week which kind of gave us all a bad feeling... after some hosing and wrapping and waiting, her came out of his stall three legged lame on Monday.

Xrays found the a bit of his splint bone had broken off and would need to be removed. Fortunately the surgeon thinks this is a text book case and he should be just fine after a couple weeks stall rest and back to work in a month.
His surgery is at 1:00 today (with the same person who just removed Subk's new horses lesions, FWIW) and we have one mopey, worried little girl running around.
Jingles please, for this little superstar!

Jingles! One of the great things about ponies is that they're so tuff, so hoping he will be right back at 'em!

Flip a coin. It's not what side lands that matters, but what side you were hoping for when the coin was still in the air.

Mr Jelly Belly came through well! I ended up going to watch the surgery since it was crappy today and I'm glad I did.
Here he is with Miss Ansleigh before they took him back.
His little girl stayed, too, and she was a trooper! She sat in a chair eating Jelly Belly's (I got her a bag of neon green and blue jelly bellys and a balloon (and peppermints for Jelly) as a get well present) and watched the whole thing, even his recovery, which is always rough to see.
The piece was HUGE! Very long and skinny. The surgeon explained that it was moving around a bit, so he had a good bit of bruising, but all the ligaments and tendons looked fine.
Anyway, he was looking out the window at us when we left, so he's in good hands and can hopefully come home tomorrow.
Thanks everyone for your jingles! I'll update tomorrow when we find out how he did overnight!
