I'm not posting this as a sales ad, so hopefully this is ok!
I have a custom Lauriche saddle that is about 8-9 years old. Was always well-cared for and hasn't been ridden in for over 6 years - just been sitting in a tackroom. Two summers ago the dehumidifier in the tack room went out and unfortunately I was out of town and didn't catch it for about 3 months By that time the saddle had grown quite a bit of mold. I cleaned it up as soon as I found out and it's been treated with Leather Therapy and regularly cleaned and conditioned since then, but the saddle is permanently discolored.
I don't use this saddle and it's taking up space in the tack room - is it worth anything at all for re-sale or should I plan on just giving it away?
I learned a trick for getting rid of mold on/in saddles the other day....put it in a plastic bag (trash bag) and spray an entire can of lysol in to the bag and tie closed. After 24 hours the lysol should have plenty of time to penetrate all the nooks and crannies.
