    Default anyone noticing shedding now?

I'm in the northeast, and my young paint is shedding. Is spring on the way?

The days are getting longer, so they shed.

As far as Spring goes.. I wish, but the if wishes were horses beggars would ride.

My paint pony always starts to shed his white patches right about now. When he starts to shed the brown patches, then I know that spring is right around the corner!

Yes here in Illinois my yearling pony is starting to shed as is one of my larger horses. I've always noticed some shedding at this time of year. They are both not blanketed and that might make the difference, I'm not sure.

Yes...of course, it's the REALLY hairy small pony that is shedding...I do not look forward to getting all the hair off of him, lol.

my mare has been shedding like crazy for a couple of weeks. She is blanketed and comes in at night. Does she realize we have not had any winter yet?

I was wondering the same thing tonight as I was tempted to grab a shedding blade but resisted the urge.

Yes, but the mud seems to be holding it all in place.

Mine has just now started to noticeably shed. They are usually starting pretty much on the first of the year, so I was concerned my boys were late! The hay quality hasn't been great this year, so I was contributing their slightly lacking nutrition to their late shedding.

My friend's mare, who is blanketed, has been shedding since before new years.

I feel like mine are shedding early. Also my gelding that usually has enough winter coat for 3 horses only made enough for 1 this year. Climate change?

The hairiest of my yaks is shedding. He's also the one who started growing his coat way before the others. He convinced me we'd have a super-cold winter, so I'm not sure what to think now.

Yes... my 14 year old that I have had since a week old was shedding as I groomed him today. I was thinking it was rather early for him.. he must know something I don't about the up coming weather.

It's freezing here in So. Cali (for us weather challenged) it gets below 50 and were complaining....... we even had a "freeze warning" yesterday...
