You are welcome, goodpony. If Lucy were not currently toting around my daughter at tadpole, I would have kept Annie as her replacement My nine year old said no way, so at some point Lucy not only gets to have another foal by Top Gun, she'd better have a bay filly for me

Mick is the sire of my Premium mare and the grandsire of CH Aedan Zodiac, As well as Lorcan who I mentioned earlier--I agree with smallchange, you'd be very hard pressed to improve on the temperament. He has a lot of really nice offspring both pure and part bred. One of his partbreds was 1st after dressage at the AEC's this year over like 90 rides!

Our Mick daughter only recently took up jumping (had a beatiful colt for me in 2010) and has since gone back to being a riding pony. She and her rider are scoring near 70% (69.9%) at 1st Level with multiple high score awards and have placed in nearly all their jumping shows (she is still green over fences-just started jumping late last year). She is a really neat pony--so bomb proof that my 9yo can ride/handle her easily. She is really cool-love her! She is also not little--14.3-15HH out of a 14.1HH mare.

Have to put in another vote for Mick. Friend of mine has a lovely, lovely imported mare that he's hoping to breed this year and I'm pushing hard for Mick for her as I think she'd compliment him beautifully. If we were breeding this year (taking a year off) I would have put my *Fairyhill Queen (dam of the palomino colt sired by Goodpony's Eclipse) to him. He's proven to the hilt and one of my favorite stallions and getting up there in age so I'm hoping to use him or have friends use him before he passes.

I like Caraway Finn a lot. He is not promoted much, but he is a lovely pony.
His owner, Hillary's mum, is Christine Carey, and she is also on FB.
They bought an AFR daughter (one of my homebreds) to breed to him and had a beautiful filly this year.

She was neither heavy or coarse (not drafty! in the least)--but had quality bone/substance and very nice gaits and was also very pretty/extremely well balanced. She has subsequently been exported to France with her owner.

I would also consider Ard Celtic Art for a TB cross--he is a very desirable size and my filly by him is a jumping machine (this is her jumping on her own!)--but with the most delightfully easy temperament. The sort a child could easily handle. She is every inch built to jump.

We are planning a TB cross using our own Stallion Wildwych Eclipse to our Pleasant Tap Daughter this season--Eclipse tends to add both quality bone and substance as well as very high ride ability (among other things!). His 5 yo son "Rocky" is currently the USEF/ACPS HOTY for partbreds in the eventing category. He was also selected for the USEA "Safe Harbor" award at the 2012 West Coast Young Event Horse Championships where he placed 4th Overall in a field of really big guns! The "Safe Harbor Award" is presented to the young horse who consistently exhibits the most graceful and rider friendly performance throughout the competition."

I am also still contemplating using my new TB colt (AP Indy Grandson--has an incredible temperament) over one of my Purebred Mares to attempt a more "Blood over Bone" cross. The mare Im considering is a both a Premium Mare with the ACPS and Special Premium with GOV/Weser Ems---she is a purebred Connemara with both excellent breed type and quality gaits (she also show jumps/events) and yes she has a lot of bone and substance. She is by Maplehurst Micheal MacDaire and out of Eastlands Glendearg. Mick is one I would also go to for a TB mare or his son Elphin Cronin (Cronin has a bunch of TB crosses!)

Vanessa Morgan still has frozen on Gunsmoke. You can contact her through her website, www.connemararas.com.

From what I understand, Art will only be standing via frozen semen this spring. He will be competing, and since his owner is out of the country a lot for work, it is easy for them to manage that way. You can contact his owner for further info.

Goodpony, I'm thrilled to hear that you're going to give Roy a chance. If I didn't have all my mares booked for this year, I'd be jumping in line. Perhaps 2014

Yes, Art is at Peterson Smith in Ocala being collected and frozen now, then he goes to Missy Ransehousen for the winter. Donna may show him herself in February if she is in the country. I am planning on an ET foal this year with Art and the new forest pony mare who is at prelim.

The buyer had a large life changing event. I was taking payments on him and refunded her money. He is still a colt as he is so quiet, but I will geld him and Flynn in February. Both are furry yak things as they are almost yearlings now!!

Vanessa is also on FB--you might try to reach her through there as well.

Im in the preliminaries of starting my Art filly and I really like her: smart, funny, a little opinionated and so athletic/well balanced. She reminds me a whole lot of her older brother (same mother) by Glenormiston Billies Bay (Castle Baron x Glenormiston Ballycara) at this same age. She has an *exceptional walk!!! and is super elastic really swings through her whole body--which is really rare to see in the breed. Im really looking forwards to seeing what she feels like under saddle.

My TBxConn mare had a filly by him in 2011. Really fabulous moving individual with a great brain. You can see her on my website listed below, her name is Brambleridge Celtic Sparrow. I sold her to an eventing home last fall.
