    Default Your dream job?

If you could be a working student or assistant trainer for any FEI trainer/rider in the United States, who would you choose and why? I would love to hear personal stories of great trainers who are also great people.

My dream job? Independently, wealthy owner.

    Jorge Gabriel
It's a shame I'm at a career point in my life I can't be the nomadic student and live out of a tent and actually DO that.
Why? Because he produces what I feel are the finest GP horses in the country, and to date produces the best piaffes I've ever seen.

Thanks! I had not heard of Jorge Gabriel, but he sounds like an excellent trainer.

I would also choose to be the independent, wealthy owner.

My FEI trainer/rider/instructor, Susanne Benne, is a wonderful person as well as spectacularly lovely and effective rider, and mostly sympathetic (but not "easy") instructor. Still if I had the choice, I would rather have the luxury of going on a trail ride from time to time and have someone else do the laundry, clean tack, muck stalls, and ride the lazy ones.

FWIW, there's miles of difference in many barns between working student and assistant trainer.
