Default Dressage Sport Horse Breeding Classes - NEED INFO!

Was hoping all of you in Dressage Land could help me figure out the process for finding and entering USDF recognized shows for Dressage Breeding.

I have a coming yearling by Royal Prince that I would like to show "in-hand" at these shows but I'm not familiar with dressage or what they judge on. I'm a hunter person but think this filly would do great in this type of competition until she is old enough to ride. I have done hunter breeding classes before and they are totally different from what I've been told.

Does anyone know how to get started with this? I'm having a hard time finding the info on the USDF website and it looks like there are no shows in my area either :-( Thank you!

you can go to the USDF website and go to the tab for competitions. Find your region and look up shows. Each show listed will have a list of initials after it. Look for ones with "BC" which stands for "Breeders Championships" these are not the regional finals for the championships, just qualifiers.

Depending on where you live, you can look in several regions. Youa re not restricted to one region as in performance for showing. But if you qualify for regionals, then you have to show in that region's final. The Sport horse breeding regions are not based soley on the the performance regions. They will be listed as East, Southeast, New England, Central and so on.
For example, I live in region 1 in North Carolina. But most shows are 6 hours or more away. I also show in region 3 where the closest show is only 3 hours away.

You can also post this on the Sporthorse Breeding forum.

Thanks! Did that and like you, there are no shows in my state. I'm in SC.

So where do you go to show? Traveling 6 hours to Florida to show "in-hand" seems crazy!
