Can someone explain that stigma to me? I've never understood it.

There is an old rhythm about Chestnut mare beware and it goes on to talk about how many socks n blaze =. What level of fiery temperament ......like saying all persons with red hair have bad temper or short fuse or are Easley excitable.....

I remember this rhyme from a book-

One white foot, buy a horse
Two white feet try a horse
three white feet ride him for your life
Four white feet give him to your wife
Four white feet and a stripe down his nose,
Sock him over the head and feed him to the crows.

This mare is lovely...I love how quiet she is in the parking lot. I wish I could make her part of my herd.

Some don't like them, true, but I'm a h/j rider and we have half the barn filled with fantastic mares- a few of them are even chestnut! A good horse doesn't have a bad color.

So glad you appreciated my eye and for COTH to allow showcasing these exceptional CANTER horse who others wise may go unnoticed until someone goes the extra mile to point out how truly special the horse is......and for her connections patience to keep her safe until someone bought her....Hope she doesn't t fall prey to being just another chestnut mare....

I saw her and appreciated her for myself and used my own judgement...CANTER is a PUBLIC website that I often look through which is where I saw her long before you ever posted her on Coth...it was a bonus and icing on my birthday cake that she came from the same trainer as my other horse did! also nice to see a lot of other people validate how nice she truly is! I'm quite confident in my eye as I've made up and sold several top of the line AA conformation hunters-one of whom is currently Champion at WEF
