Exclamation All Of You Should Shut Up And Kiss My....

    Puppy!

He is a Shiba Inu, in case you were wondering. He's a very sociable and loving dog who wins over everyone who meets him.

One of the principle philosophies behind posting on this forum is that you can't really have any fun unless you're being a little bit vulgar every now and then.

Shibas are soooo cute but little terrorists! He looks just like my sister's Taz. The name fit!

Then again, he wasn't socialized, had no manners and was left to run the house. ..... and that he did!

I think I've met Taz at the dog park, assuming your sister lives in the area as you once did and I'm thinking of the right dog. Few Shibas ever go to the dog park I go to though there are occasional ones.

As our shelter lady used to say, ADORABLE!

There is one problem with cute puppies, they do tend to eventually grow up.
What do you know, that is one of those breeds that they just never seem to do that.

    Definitely kissable.

Sammy is quite cute and well behaved! Can't wait to see you both again!

Snapped some good shots today at the park. I'll upload them shortly. I also picked up a top of the line camera today so I'll be shooting MOAR!

    He's so cute.

In my neck of the woods is a puppy mill type breeder of SIs and most of her dogs are unhealthy and have poor social skills. It's nice to hear there are some nice healthy ones out there.

Curious...my neighbors have a Shiba Inu and it has the most god awful bark. Literally sounds like some unearthly creature....is this normal for the breed?

    Gladly!

I used to work for Holly Farm Kennels in Souderton Pa and they breed Shibas. We had Who Do You Voodoo male champion and ....I forget the female's show name, we just called her by her house name which was The Devil.

This was wwaaaayyyy back in the late 1990's

Mine does a real bark maybe 5x a year and its just a single "woof". He will scream like a cat being skinned alive at the vet. They have to put a muzzle on him because the noise is so deafening. They learn to use it quite effectively as puppies, and know that people will stop messing with them (trying to clip nails!) and cover their ears.
It kind of sounds like mating foxes.
Otherwise, nearly silent dogs. If I didn't walk mine, my neighbors wouldn't know I had a dog.

ETA: in a kennel, they can all get going.
I have tons of Shiba pics here:

OMG my sister's dog would screeech.

He also would constantly nip my dog in the face all day every day. Big Rhodie being nip by mini devil. Amani would ignore him 98% of the time. I don't know if Taz would talk about Amani's mom or what but he would go after him and pin the Shiba to the ground with his front paws and mouth on neck. Rhodie would slowly let him get up and if the Shiba was still on defense he would get pinned again. Amani wouldnt let him up until there was a truce.... lol. Then, he would go right back to the nips (when ever Amani would walk/ trot around. He would leave Amani alone as long as he would sit or be still)

Crazy! My nieces have just informed me that they think our 'stray' is all or mostly Shiba. I had never heard of the breed, but she definitely does have the look.

    Your puppy is darling :-)
