    Late to the thread but I would like to add that the small pill is WAY easier to give then the paste.
    I really dislike seeing expensive paste (equioxx or ulcergard) plop on the ground - even a tiny bit of it.

    oh I thought it was because the trials were more expensive to run on horses than dogs and the company recoups the cost in the price of the product. As in it's more expensive to care/feed/run trials on 50 horses than it is to run trials on 50 dogs to get the FDA (or whoever it is) approval

    Luckily I work at a small animal clinic that is willing to order Previcox for me, the owner's daughter also rides.
