I agree, even as a dressage rider there are many words of wisdom found throughout this clinic. Dr. Ober makes very good points about rider/trainers taking responsibility for maintaining soundness. Shame that girl needs to take lunging lessons or get to a Buck clinic...

I was going to post to this the other day, but I got distracted ...

After George Morris commented earlier in the training sessions (might have been in the morning, I forget) about how SLOPPY AMERICAN RIDER'S ARE (compared to Europeans), this girl massacred longing. No wonder her horse is crooked. And it looked like she could have gotten tangled in the longeline had her horse decided to be explosive. Dangerous habits to learn. It might not matter for the horse you are working with at the time, but later on, if you are going to longe a strange horse those bad habits can get you/someone seriously injured.

    Which session (day?) is it?
A friend told me I was delusional. I almost fell off my unicorn.

I actually started trying to yell at them through the laptop at the end when they couldn't make him go to the left again. It was driving me crazy.

This was the Day 2 session with Dr. Tim, which was very good except for the longeing.

A long time ago I rode with a George M protege. We did the hunters. We evented. We competed in dressage. His basic training was far better than the 'dressage' types in the area at the time. (Another time, another state).

I wish I had that horse today knowing what I know now. SUPER jumper. Would have been an FEI dressage horse. Changes? Just think them.
