Question opinions needed: best feed companies

Okay, say you were going to open your own feed store and you had the wherewithall to stock absolutely any brand of horse feed from anywhere in the U.S. What do you think are the absolute best feed companies out there? For the sake of brevity, please just say companies, not individual feeds. (For example: Triple Crown. Not TC Senior, Complete, etc, just say Triple Crown.) TIA!

Triple Crown and Pennfield come to mind. There are some specific Nutrena and Purina feeds I think are high quality, but not all of them. McCauleys is a nice, small brand with good feed (IMO). Blue Seal is overall a good quality brand.

TC, Progressive, Seminole, Poulin, Tribute, Pennfield, LMF, Buckeye

Of course, there are absolutely individual feeds in each company I'd not want to associate with, but as a whole, those are quality companies.

LMF, TC and Pennfields are my 3 current favorites based on how I've seen other do on them. I particularly like LMF because most horses I know on it (most, not all) do not need extra supplements. Even some hard keepers.

Blue Seal has a subsidary, Sentinel, that I would put every horse on if I could Sentinel LS is my favorite, 16% fiber, 12% protein, 13% fat, and so many omega's and aminos, my horse has never looked better. Great ingredient list as well.

Seminole. Website says "world's best feed" and it's true.

It's milled often, so we don't get bags of feed which have been lying in a warehouse for weeks or more. And the quality is the same in each bag, so you won't see one of those tags attached to a bag. Other feed companies use the tags because each milling is not always the same.

    Standlee Hay Company.

Well, they are my horses feed. I do not EVER feed grain any more. Hay pellets and Equipride. Been doing this for 3 years now.

TRIPLE CROWN! Something for everyone, and they aren't loaded with sugar!

Cavalor. Whole ingredients in fixed amounts, what's not to like? Plus, I love the alfalfa chaffe in it. It just came to my region and my old man has his topline back. He was on Pennfield's Fibergized before they went wonky with their formulations.

KER, Pennfield and Triple Crown would be my first choices.

My regional selection/experience is limited, but I have enjoyed and supported both Tribute and Buckeye.

TC and Standlee. I do have to point out that there are some areas where it's going to be the price of the feed that sells it. I've seen plenty of people walk past the glossy name brands at the TSC and head for the brown "All Stock - $12.99" pile.

I'd carry Seminole, triple crown, and Standlee.

My guys eat standlee alfalfa pellets with Seminole ration balancer. They look and perform like rock stars

Good old Purina is what I like. Heresy to some, but the OP did ask for OPINIONS. Have also used and been satisfied with Buckeye and Tribute products. I don't expect miracles from feed, so I'm rarely either disappointed or awed by them.

LMF - In my opinion it is the best out of my local choices.

I took my mare off of it for a year, tried some different feeds, she didn’t thrive on the competitors.

Put her back on LMF, and she is keeping her weight, feet look great, and coat now glows.

Pennfield, Blue Seal/Sentinel; maybe Triple Crown for a third.
