Default Big flippin" mess with USEF Leading Sire rankings

Well, we all know one has to take these rankings with a grain of salt, but they are more screwed up than ever.

I just took a look at them while researching something and this is what I see:

2012 Points : Leading Sires, Hunters
    1 BESTE GOLD
AMERICAN WARMBLOOD: BELUCCI - GOLDKATZE, by GRUSUS 67
    2 FABRIANO

    7 LATUS II
    HOLSTEINER: LANDGRAF I DE 321 210391966 - FOLIA DE 321210460603, by MAXIMUS DE 321210385463 12

    1 HARMONY'S ROUSSEAU
    KWPN: FERRO - ZSUZSA , by ROEMER 237STB 4

2012 Points : Leading Sires, Jumper
    1 ANIMO
DUTCH WARMBLOOD: ALME' - IRENE, by AMOR 5

2012 Points : Leading Sires, Eventing
    No Results

Numbers at the end are the points attributed to that sire. There is no way these rankings are correct. For one thing, in 2011, the leading Hunter Sire, White Star, had over 55,000 points. I find it completely implausible that the leading hunter sire for 2012 had only 67 points.

So, I can only say Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot at this point.

WTF? <LOL>. It's how to spell things out when speaking over shortwave radios or telephones. Oh God...that soooo dates me. I have an excuse, though!!! My dad was a radio operator in the Air Force...<sad smile>.

    Check this link:

I get results that look as expected.

    Well, that's for 2011.

    Here's the link for 2012:

    http://www.usef.org/_IFrames/pointsAwards/points/leadingSiresM.aspx?year=2012&section=2000&viewCat= Hunter

However, there is this on the 2011 page:

ALL 2011 COMPETITION RESULTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED AND PROCESSED BY USEF
NATIONAL AND ZONE POINTS ARE NOW LOCKED.

Which is absent from the 2012 page.

If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say the 2012 results are still incomplete. Little odd that the USEF would publish the results before they're totally tabulated, though.

Never mind, that was 2011. Looks like 2012 results are not completely loaded yet.

    Very odd.
Results are updated on a continual basis during the year and what's displayed now is a LOT diferent that was listed around 12/15.
But as noted they aren't marked final so I wouldn't get too worried about it. Email USEF if you want to inquire.

Weird. The link I posted yesterday now directs to the 2011 page, despite looking correct above and working correctly yesterday.

Here are the 2012 results again:

I was surprised to see Dover Ridge! I knew him from his racing days, and friends with the people that originally stood him at stud. He was a handsome horse, any idea where he is now?

I have no idea where Dover Ridge stands. But if you click on his name on the rankings list (he is #584), you see that he only had one offspring that contributed to his points.
    http://www.usef.org/_IFrames/pointsA...viewCat=Hunter

And if click on the offspring's name, you can see the competitions where that horse earned the points - with locations and owner name. If you search for that horse under Horse Recording, you can see the owner information. Breeder info unfortunately wasn't reported to USEF for this horse, so that is a dead end trail. Buy maybe the owner can give you some leads.
