Another contact information request
There is a mare I'm sort of vulturing. She's eight and her last race was in March last year. She won. Both the trainer and owner seem to be from Nebraska, and the owner doesn't seem to be a breeder. He got this mare through a claim. So it doesn't seem likely that he would keep her as a broodmare, although she won over 250k.
Trainer was Bruce L. Riecken and he trains all over the middle of the US. Owner is Anthony J. Didier of David City, NE.
I'm contemplating getting in touch with them to find out if she might become available. From what I can see, she'd make a lovely sport horse or sport horse broodmare.

She may have already been sold as a broodmare... Trainers don't usually keep older horses around 6+ months.

Not someone that comes to Arapahoe, I don't think.
If you run into a total brick wall, I can hook you up with a trainer who does run in Nebraska. We have a couple who took horses out there following our meet. No guarantees either would be able to help, but they're both nice enough guys and would talk to you.
And, of course, I'm terribly curious who you're interested in (Oh...chestnut mare born Feb 21 2004, won $271,440? Check out her last race, as she was claimed there...)

Yup. that's the one. Equibase has her new connections and the trainer is now at Delta Downs in Louisiana. She hasn't either raced or been entered since the claim. Should have checked equibase sooner.
Maybe she was claimed to be a broodmare? Does that happen?

Happens quite often actually. She might've been bred after being claimed. Did you run a quick google to see if she was run through a late sale? Or is entered in one now?

She was claimed AGAIN after that one. That means in her eight years of life, she's been claimed at least three times and possibly more. No telling how many different trainers and owners she's been through, but she was a very good claimer.

One of my former racehorses has been claimed 7 times and I was outshook in an attempt to bring her back 3 trainers ago... alas I lost the nine way shake.
