Holy horse meat! Just his NECK is a very large horse!
And that was taken in the days before photo-shopping, so that fellow is really all that and then some.
He looks like a total sweetie -- a big, pudgy sweetie.

Honest question: though the pic was clearly taken before photoshopping days, couldn't the photo be altered now? I hope not - I love Petstorejunkie's naming it "Hippo Horse."

Sure, it could be. But I'm assuming OP found the original photo, or that it was printed in a book/ magazine etc.

Is that a Brabant?

Looks like a Suffolk Punch stallion (yup, I have a thing for draft horses and play this identify-the-breed game alot). See this link http://www.ponybox.com/news_details....k-Punch&id=604 scroll down about halfway to the small pictures of the stallions -especially 3rd from left.

He is total garbage! Quick! Hide him on my trailer (Petstorejunkie).

first thought was Suffolk Punch too. If he's not a chestnut, though-- hard to tell in B/W but looks like a true brown rather than a dark chestnut-- that would rule out Suffolk Punch, oui?

Holy neck, Batman!
Makes you wonder how far it can turn it's head.
No 'riding on the vertical' with that fellow, LOL!
You jump in the saddle,
Hold onto the bridle!
Jump in the line!

I found it on Facebook, actually, and the caption I forgot to copy (and can't get to right now) claims it's a Percheron, but I agree that it looks like a Brabant.

That is a horse you don't want to buy by the lb.
That thick makes me think that maybe some IR could be involved, not just breed characteristics and/or too fat?
Horse has some bone to him.
Would be interesting to see that horse moving.

I don't know about that, Bluey, this is (Brabant) what I thought of when I first saw him: http://trekpaard-hengstenhouderij.nl...onarius_10.jpg
Okay, that's not the exact horse I thought of, but I can't find the picture of the one I wanted so that will have to do. But yeah, it would be interesting to see how much of that is muscle and how much is jiggle when he moves.

Is he still a stud?
Impressive, but I'm not sure I'd want him on my feed bill!
