I recently bought some Premier eventing boots. Front and Hind. He wouldn't tolerate the hind boots. He kept trying to kick them off in the cross ties.... They come up pretty high. I am looking for some advice on some hind xc boots that are
1.Lightweight and cool
2.Don't come up really high
I also have had this problem with the Premiers. However, all of my horses got over the initial intolerance. They still kick out a bit when I first put them on, but they get over it once they get moving.
If I were you, I would put them on, and hack out or lunge him with the boots on. If that doesn't work, there are other hindboots that are shorter (Nunn Finers) but the Premier boots, in my opinion, are really great so may be worth some desensitization.

I just used fetlock boots on mine until he figured it out. He is now perfectly happy in the premiers. I recommend the eskadron or trizone fetlocks which have better coverage. Once he accepts those, try the premieres again.
