What weather websites do you rely on for CORRECT information? I spend a large amount of time watching radar or checking forecasts so that I can plan turnout or riding. I prefer intellicast but it still misses from time to time. Any websites for weather that are user friendly and relatively accurate or as accurate as Mother Nature lets them be?

I like www.intellicast.com, especially the radar with severe storms indicated.

I live in Canada but near the border so I can generally extrapolote to where I am. Environment Canada is usually way behind the curve.

I like Accuweather. I used to use Weather Channel, but they changed their format and don't show "extended" as a calendar anymore. Accuweather will show you the whole month so you can plan.

I rely on Weather Underground. I used to like having Weather Bug on the corner of my computer screen, but after I moved 3 years ago, there is no station to set WB to that gives me accurate weather. The area is full of odd little microclimates and the nearest WB stations are at least 15 miles away. The nearest Weather Underground station, on the other hand, is a few blocks from where I live.

Funny enough, I work upstairs from a meteorologist at all times but I have found the Weather Channel to be the most accurate. I love the hourly forecast for seeing when rain or snow might start/stop, and it is usually pretty spot on.

Keep in mind that NO weather site or meteorologist will always be right. They aren't psychics who can see the future. Weather prediction is just an educated guess based on knowing the patterns and movements of the atmosphere and pressure systems. It makes me laugh when people are outraged that the weather report was wrong. Sometimes it will be!

weather.com. I can actually time riding around rain showers and it works 95% of the time. But, we don't have much in the way of actual weather here.

Wunderground is my home page. During hurricane season I want to know daily whats doing on. Plus they have the most fabulous photos on there.

I use NOAA/NWS, but that's because I work for them.

I did an internship at AccuWeather, but a lot of their info comes straight from a computer with little human interaction. The whole forecasting experience there left me with a sour taste in my mouth. Hence why I'm not a forecaster.

Us meteorologists can be wrong quite a bit of the time, but we always try hard to get it right. Mother nature sometimes has a mind of her own.
