I love metal. Megadeth, Zombie, Scorpions, Judas Priest, Rammstein, Pantera, Dio, top the list.

Love some 70s artists BOC, Heart, ELO, Tom Petty, Rush, Ozzy top that list

Then a mess of other stuff classical, to pop.

But what I really cant stand is modern country music. I would rather listen to elevator music than that.

I Used to like thrashy metal. Now I'm kind of tired of it, or less angry, or something...

I like alternative. I find an alternative channel and I'm a happy, happy camper.

I like rap. Not the mainstream stuff, though. But when I hear bits of it on local radio, by local artists, I can't help but think more people would like it if they heard some good rap.

There's a lot of stuff I'm supposed to like, but don't. Like 80's music.

Planetlisa, I too hate the genre "that 80's crap."

Besides that, hate rap and don't appreciate classical except in elevators. I like music with interesting lyrics...but 99% of the time I listen to book tapes. I love to read.

    Anything but country or folk.

And I enjoy going to the opera and symphony, but I don't rock out to it on my ipod or anything.

    what ever fits the mood.

That can be Bach or Mozart, or Backstreet Boys and Linkin Park.
I don't listen to rap - most is just do boring to me, the forced attempt to make the words rhyme...but I am not totally opposed.

Sometimes I find the odd folksy or ethnic piece.
    I can't stand Bossanova tho...not sure why.
now having said that, I will probably let it grow on me...like a fungus

Pretty much everything except opera, classical and bubble gum pop. Favorites would be Clutch, Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band, Hank III, Morphine, GNR, Flogging Molly, and Black 47.

I love-love classical, especially Tchaikovsky. Everything else I listen to is a grab bag (Green Day, P!nk, Dwight Yoakam, Emnimen, etc.). I do REFUSE to listen to any current country music starting with Toby Keith though, and jazz isn't my thing.

BritPop... Quality BritPop from the Beatles to Elbow! There's just something about music from Britain that I just love.

XTC is my all time fav, but also love Stone Roses, Catherine Wheel, Muse, etc. I think the two American bands that I give "Honorary BritPop" status to are Death Cab for Cutie and Sunny Day Real Estate.

Besides pretty much every Jimmy Buffett album ever recorded there also resides on my ipod Dean Martin, Tina Turner, Frank Sinatra, Willie Nelson, Wheezer, Panic! At the Disco, Cowboy Troy, Evernescence, Green Day, Patsy Cline, the Bangals, and some original recordings from various groups my son has worked with.

    Very eclectic.

My radio stations are programmed to 70s/80s classic rock, hard rock, and Bob.

I also like some classical music, girly Scandinavian symphonic metal (Nightwish, Epica, Delain), classic singer-songwriters (Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, any other Canadians I've missed?) and random groups like The New Pornographers and Mumford and Sons.

Definitely taking notes here, going to check out these bands you guys have mentioned to add to my collection. I'm a music whore.

I don't mind country, but it's not my favorite, same goes for rock - I have a few sounds of both genres, but not huge into them. I find rock just very jarring in general.

I like the Blues too! I have just a few songs, so thanks for the names!

Love meditation/ yoga music as well - Have you ever listened to Sufi or Traditional Chinese music? LOVE.

I enjoy Celtic and Newfie/folk music as well Love Great Big Sea and Simani

    Don't mind Dubstep either.

And Red Hot Chili Peppers are great. So is P!nk.. Metallica is good, but not my favorite.

Sorry, my internet is pretty much well down, (I'm using crappy linksys) so watching videos is painful. I will definitely watch/listen when it doesn't take videos an hour to load and then play for 30 seconds.

But I will add on one of my very favorite new singers, a 17 year old singer/songwriter from Ireland with an AMAZING voice: Orla Gartland http://youtu.be/AQazxip0aBM

and I also adore Jonathan Coulton: http://www.jonathancoulton.com/
