Default Enable me into buying this painting

I shopped for months to find "the" painting (technically it's printed canvas, but somebody painted it once upon a time) of a shoreline scene to hang in my room. Ended up finding a smaller version of "the" painting at HomeGoods, and it made me very happy and suited the room well.

We moved house this weekend and I'm in the stage of hanging artwork now. I thought to myself, "Man, I really wish 'the' painting were double the size; it would make a great focal point over my bed."

Today, at Bed Bath and Beyond, I saw "the" painting in double the size.

Am I right to consider this a sign? Is it bloody stupid to have a big version and a little version of the same one?

You obviously love this painting if you think about it so much that you would consider having two copies! If you love it that much, you should buy the big version. You can always sell the little one somewhere.

Go get it before someone else does. You will regret it if you don't!

Go for it! Finding the right piece for a space is TOUGH. When you find something that you love, don't pass it up!

Get the bigger one, and either put the little one in another room, or just keep it in the spare room. It might be that you'll move someday and want to put the small one back up, because sometimes buyers like something around the house, and want it as a freebie (I never thought about it, until a friend had this happen). Or put the smaller one in the guest room or your room. There's no rule that pictures can't be the same one in the same house.

Definitely a sign. I walked from a painting I fell in love with and then saw it in another gallery yrs down the rd. I purchased it and have never regretted it. There will be few pieces that really "speak" to you and if you find one, you really should splurge

The questions I ask myself when buying art:
    1. Does it make me happy?
    2. Does it make me think?

The first question is a must. The second is a bonus. Buy the painting.

My policy is if I think about it THAT much, it's worth it. If I can walk around a store and completely forget about something, I didn't want it that badly. Clearly you keep thinking on this. If having two sizes of the same picture bothers you, take down the smaller one.

If looking at the bigger painting every day would make you happy, then buy it. And if Bed Bath and Beyond is having a sale, than that's even better.

Look at Bed Bath and Beyond's website and see if they have any coupons, or an ad with a painting sale.

Bless you all. My mother told me I am crazy, but what does she know. It's not a particularly amazing piece of artwork but I find it very peaceful and I love the colors. So here it is in my (only partially set up) bedroom: http://tinypic.com/r/2hdxxcj/6

(Promise it isn't crooked- bad angle on the photo.)
