Hips like a whore.

LOL
One of my favorites - if you find yourself struggling to ..uh..communicate effectively with your horse:
"Dressage is an art....not a martial art!"

Regarding an, um, enthusaistic response to a leg cue:
"It's OK, at least she's in front of your leg!!!!"

Umm, hula hoop is round and round. Canoeing isnt.

Riders shouldn't have a canoeing motion either.

But you do need that looseness through the hips. If this imagery helps you get there, more power to ya!

I'm guessing the OP quote was said by a sexist pig of a man.
"Relinquish your whip!!"

Velvet dear
do try to get a sense of humor this year.
Most of us not only understood, we got a chuckle.

I've heard too many of those quotes from older, top trainers. It's not funny to me. I have a sense of humor, that's just sexist crap from a man that has no respect for women. Not enough to use the correct terms, anyway.

Older, male = sexist
Because back then there wasn't anything considered wrong or rude about it.
I've heard just as bad or worse from women trainers. One of my former trainers had a male, homosexual student who she regularly yelled "t*tts out" at. He'd just laugh and sit up straighter.
I think that crude physical references either bother you or they don't. I don't think that assuming that was first coined by a man was fair, it likely wasn't.
Ever read those trashy bodice-ripper novels by the lady authors? Talk about sexist, Jeesh.
You should hear female dance coaches talk.

I actually read it on tumblr so I can't take credit for it. Not only is it funny but it's true. I had a trainer that used to tell me to "be seductive!"

From a German trainer (female) a million years ago at one of the Violet Hopkins intructor's seminars. While riding Tempi Changes in loafers when she hopped on to demonstrate: "girls, point your nipples East and West". I loved it, and have used it at times.

I have recalled the happy TaTa quote many a time
It is actually more core correct that "get your shoulders back"
Though the shoulder like a queen hips like a whore could also apply to the horse, particularly in the walk
