*This is meant to be a fun thread on a lazy Sunday afternoon, so please no critiques. I just want to see some silliness other than my own *

I love reading GM's jumping clinic, and it's really helped educate my eye as far as rider form and horse jumping form. So let's see your best jumping photos, possibly ones that you would send in.....and your worst, that you never ever ever would!

My best (that I have on the computer):
Horse's usual form when he jumps--not the next Rox Dene, but safe and efficient
My best form, although my hand's rotating back grrrr.

The worst (again, that I have on the computer.....there are some gems that I haven't scanned and realistically should probably burn):
What was that about verticals with minimal groundlines encouraging a horse's best jump?

I'm not sure how to critique this one, as I missed landing in the saddle entirely... <-- I have that on video, it's a great example of fantastically bad riding.
Actually, I just wasn't on good terms with my saddle that year so I tried to stay out of it as much as possible.
I posted this on the other thread, but Nikki is not impressed by small fences.

Here is an awesome series from Stuart HT showing the wheels turning, gears grinding, everything but the smoke coming out his ears after we came over the crest of the hill to the third fence to see not only our jump #3 but jump #3 for BN, training, prelim, intermediate, etc within view, plus jump judges moving their chairs, etc.... I was saying "no THIS one!!!" as his head swiveled around like an outtake from "The Exorcist" as he pondered the options, and only realized which one we were REALLY going to jump right about the time we were on top of it.....

I have quite a few of the "bad" examples from the last several years, but I've selected my favorites

My baby, Charley:

Good Baby! and Not-so-great moment

Though I have to say that I'm not totally sure that the not-so-great moment is *that* bad, I mean technically his knees are even and up and he's nice and round over (through?) the fence

My best mare ever:

Good mare! and BAD rider! (still GOOD mare!)

And my pony, who is such a saint and has always put up with my helper kids jumping him around....good and bad

Good pony! and OOPS!!!

In my poor helper kid's credit, there's a lot wrong with the second picture, starting with the steeper-than-normal-(for the pony) crossrail with the ground line that had accidentally rolled to the wrong side, and I'm sure other things we hadn't thought of on that particular day. The less-than-stellar distance was the just the icing on the cake that caused my pony to try to sign "HELP!" with his front legs....

Supershorty.....always love the sequence of you and Nikki. It's amazing we survive some of the things we do with (er...to?) our horses!

I miss this pony He was clearly a saint considering I was huge on him at this point and loved to jump way up his neck.

This is one of our worst/ Thankfully, this horse is pretty consistent...although I can be counted on to crawl up his neck quite often.

Worst and this is, unfortunately, fairly normal over small jumps. Even without the rider error in that picture, he tends to split horribly...but does get a bit better over something a little larger.

Lol RugBug! The two pictures that tie for worst with the bay are hilarious! I can't decide whether the expression on your face is better than or equal to the whole series of a fall (I'm laughing *with* you, not *at* you, for the record!).

My "not so great" moment on Charley ended about how you can expect from the photo. A loud, crashing, pick-up-stick moment of poles going every which way. To his credit, he rallied from his spooky moment and remembered that he was supposed to jump and continued forward through the standards. This was the first fence on course, so we circled to recompose ourselves and then continued through the rest of the course nicely. We got to do the same course again in the next class and this is him over the same fence the second time. My hand is so awkwardly placed because I was just reaching back to the reins after using my crop at the base, but not gonna lie....i was a little surprised by the effort he put into the jump the second time and I ate a little mane But I was very pleased with baby horse for willingly jumping the fence that "ate him" the first time around!
