I think Newnan is about an hour from there. Julie Richards is there and has quite a big operation.

There is also Ashley Giles and Jade Anderson, in that area.

Or you could look towards Hogansville and Flat Creek is there.

Not sure how far that is from Poplar Place but they also have an event trainer.

It will take about 1 hr to get from Griffin to Newnan travelling down Hwy 16. Ashley is closest /easiest to get to if you are coming from that direction.

Would love to hear what event trainers there are here too and who people feel is the 'best' for them and why. My husband and I are going to be moving to the Alt area soon and I am trying to find out what side/area of the out side of Atalanta I want to try to shop for homes in. He mainly works from home and would only be going into town maybe a few times a month so we are not super worried about where we end up as long as I can be close to the horses and find the right barn/trainer.
Thanks for the input! Not trying to hi-jack the tread - just wondering about the same areas.

Popular Place's guy, Werner Geven, is good I hear. Meg Morgan of Simply Southern Eventing is just around the corner from me and I love her; Ashley Giles is wonderful too as previously mentioned; Meghan Buchanan Harris of Fade to Grey. Julie Richards. I'm not sure who is at Flat Creek these days or Big Bear for that matter.

You do get more bang for your buck buying property on the South side of Atlanta. With Popular Place in Pine Mountain and Chattahoochee Hills in Fairburn, the Newnan, Moreland, Fayetteville areas are conveniently situated and you won't have quite the traffic found on the North side.

I work full time and I ride as well as my 7 year old daughter. We work with Meg Morgan because she is very flexible and fun and that's important to me with my limited time to ride.

Ashley Giles is a great instructor, rider, and person. The progress my horse and I have made in clinics + lessons over the past few months has been phenomenal. She is an excellent teacher, and also an excellent RIDER...which is a hard combination to find. Very highly recommended.
