Default thinking the oldest cat has a bladder infection

poor sebastian. i've realized this week that he has peed several times outside the box and in reading up on possible causes i realize he may have an infection. he's never not used the box, this week he's peed several times on shoes and towels, etc.
poor kitty, i bet it happened when i was out of canned food and fed them just their dry kibble for a while. i actually had no idea that wet food was so necessary to the modern cat's diet! sebastian is a former barn cat who had daily mice in his diet. living indoors he has no way to add that moisture to his diet, so here we are.
anyway i have a syringe full---4mg-- of methylprednisolone from another cat a few months ago. it's been refridgerated and i'll give it to him if it will help him to feel better.
i'll try my vet in an hour, don't know if she's open or not today.

I would suggest holding off on the injection (if the accidents are due to diabetes, steroids would be bad) and get in to an e-clinic if your vet is closed
