Apparently the author is quite pleased with the performance, fwiw, and has no problem with it. (Weirdly, the same thing happened with Tom Cruise in "Interview with the Vampire"--Ann Rice pitched a fit, saw the final performance, and apologized and said he did a great job.)

I don't even *love* to hate "It's a Wonderful Life", I just HATE it. That has got to be the most boring movie I have ever attempted to watch. Dull, treacly, cloying, obvious...

Just about anything in which Barbara Streisand attempts to act. (Except "Hello Dolly", and then it's saved by the entire rest of the cast. They should have used Carol Channing; I saw her as Dolly thirty years after they made the movie and she was STILL great, she'd have been fine.)

    I really dislike:

    1) Grease
    2) Dirty Dancing
    3) Rock of Ages

I'm sure there are more I will think of later but those 3 are definitely pretty high up on my Top Ten list.

[QUOTE=stolen virtue;6750963]The English Patient I hated this movie. Me and Elaine Benes .....I actually felt weird that I hated it just as much as her character did..[/QUOTE

Me too. Hate it. Hated the book. Hated the movie.
I think it is the only thing I have ever had in common with Elaine.

I also loathed Pretty Woman (same reasons) and The Horse Whisperer.

I liked The Way We Were.
I'm not a fan of Streisand, but Robert Redford in his Dress Whites..... sigh.

    And I LOVE It's A Wonderful Life.

You DO realize that when the movie rights were purchased that part of the contract was that the authors would NOT say anything but positive things about the movie and casting choices? If they expressed their REAL opinions, they'd get sued. This is standard contract terms in such cases.

Lee Child sort of made it very clear when, in his newest book, he writes on the very first page that Reacher is 6'5" and 250 pounds. I will always believe that was his way of saying "F you" to them.

Oh me too. I pretended to like it for a while because people were horrified that I hated it. I gave up the pretense.

I also hated Titanic. Hated it.

Exactly. I think it's one of the most depressing movies ever made.

I loathe The Sound of Music. Except, of course, for Christopher Plummer.

Groundhog Day. OMG I cannot stand that movie.

And From Dusk Till Dawn. Every time I thought it could not get more stupid and bizarre, it did...
