Movies you love to hate
The Way We Were is on TV.
I love watching it and making up my own dialogue. Plus, you can't tell what decade it is by the costumes or hair. It's all 1973!
What movies do you love to hate?

Avatar Saw it once and I want my time back.
This guy (in spite of some x-rated labguage) spotted every audience manipulation used and didn't pull punches w=in pointing them out.

Arguing with trolls is like playing chess with a pigeon. No matter how good I am at chess the pigeon is just going to knock over the pieces crap on the board and strut around like it is victorious.

Jack Reacher
I read all of the Jack Reacher books and I really liked them. I was so excited that the 6'5", dominate any room he was in, kick ass take names military policeman was coming to the big screen!!
.... But then I found out Tom Cruise was going to play Reacher. I mean Tom Cruise, really? I haven't seen the movie and I hate it.

Hate Pretty Woman (yes! The life of a prostitute is fun and glamorous and you can wind up dating Richard Gere! And if you want to be taken seriously, just get a rich guy! And who needs an education when you can just marry???) Ick.
And hate Sleepless in Seattle.
Particularly disliked (hated, loathed) No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood. I kind of like DD Lewis but totally question his judgement on that, not to mention the complete mess that was Ballad of Jack and Rose-awful, awful, awful)

Love the books, and beside the point I rather loathe Tom Cruise, it is a terrible casting decision!!

We did see Reacher and while I like others thought the casting was abhorrent, it was an okay movie...as long as I pretended I had never heard of Jack Reacher, that is.
I am not a TC fan, but this was better (not great) than his last couple of flicks. But, I'd really like him to retire!!!
And then I'd like for them to redo the movie with a believable Jack Reacher.
I have spoken!!!!!

Annoying films: yes, pretty woman. Pooh for presenting that without the dark side, disease, getting killed etc and then offering that a rich man will elevate you, because after all you are pretty.
Yup, The way We were. Redford is pretty, but this is not a good movie. He has a few good films.
May I nominate a channel? Lifetime TV! Victimhood at it's best

Yeah, disliked the book Into the Wild but it remined me of a movie I consider the VERY worst I have seen - Open Water, basically watching chum. A couple get left behind by their scuba boat, and things get bad, worse, then very, very bad, aaaaaaand...that's it! Talk about wanting my life back!
And I DISLIKE lifetime ("He cheated on me!!",, "He slept with my daughter/son!" "He stopped loving me and I almost died!" "I came down with a flesh eating bacterial disease that still leaves me looking stunning but I cry a lot". No. No. No.

Hahahahaha
I call it There Will Be Acting.
I refuse to see Lincoln because of the shameless Oscar campaign for his acting. And I used to love him.
Okay, back to The Way We Were. Barbra Streisand's hair, makeup, and manicure look exactly the same whether she is at a Hollywood party or in the maternity ward having just given birth to their (imaginary) daughter.
A helmet saved my life.

OMG it was so bad! And I love Pearl Jam but the Eddie Vedder songs were awful. My husband and I started making up songs about what Chris McCandless was doing. "Swimming in a creek nowwwwwwwww..."

I hated Into the Wild too... Ugh so stupid. And Open Water...holy worst fears realized.
I also recently watched The Dear Hunter and found it to be freakishly overrated. It was overly long, stupidly dramatic at times, depressing and kind of racist.
