I'm so happy that he was well looked after in his old age. What a great horse he was.

What a grand old horse, I loved the story Barbara Livingston did on him earlier this year. His grandson, Avie's Quality, is just entering the racing scene and won his first big race at Woodbine earlier in the year.

Barbara captured his spirit beautifully. His Royalty shown through loud and clear even through old age. Godspeed.

We lost our lovely Lord Avie daughter in 2010, but two of his granddaughters still grace our pastures.

God Speed, old man. I've loved & admired you for a long time.

    Also loved Barbara's story.

His Hopeful at Saratoga was the first time that I really caught on to how special racing is there. Although it should be obvious, when I captured Lord Avie and Well Decorated before the race - I was blown away by how gorgeous and cared for they were. This was back when they used to saddle under the trees, and the public were allowed closer. Don't believe he won, but he was impressive just the same.
