Default Anti Virus for your Smartphone

I just upgraded my phone to the Samsung SIII and someone told me that I should download an anti virus software on it.

I don't think I've ever heard of a virus on a phone but I could be wrong.

Does anyone have the anti virus downloaded onto your phone?

As far as I know, there is no antivirus for the iPhone, but if I had an Android...I'd be finding some software. I'm safe...no smartphone.

There's a site that you can get a free anti virus software that's quite good and has really great reviews. I've never had an Android phone before so when one of my friends told me I should download it, I was surprised. What makes the Android so susceptible to viruses I wonder

I have Norton Antivirus on my S3. It scans everything that I download and/or install. It was recommended to me by a techie friend, but that's about all I know about it.

I use AVG on my Samsung SII. It scans regularly as well as whenever I download a new app. No problems; well worth the money I paid (they do have a free version too).

I use Lookout Security and Antivirus based on the opinion of a technology know-it-all. I use of the free version in the app store. Have it on my smart phone and my new Google tablet.
