    Default facebook question?

If you "unfriend" someone, do they get notified?

You can block them, too. They don't get notified about that either.

No. They won't know unless they look through their friends list and realize you aren't on there. If you block them, then they won't even be able to find you on facebook if they searched for you and all posts you may have made on their wall etc will be gone (that's only with a block)

Unfriending doesn't notify them, but they will see you are not listed on their friend list. You might do better to block them:

    To block someone:

People will not be notified when you block them.

If you can’t find someone using this method, try going to the person’s timeline and selecting Report/Block This Person from the http://dragon.ak.fbcdn.net/cfs-ak-sn..._124757635.png dropdown.

You can also click on the friend list settings on your account, and hide their postings from your FB, and they can't post pictures, or comments either, and they will never know.
