For all of you who posted on my Hosting Thanksgiving thread....THANK YOU!
Thanksgiving plans changed, but we DID host the family for Christmas. I copy/pasted several pages from the TG thread, from timing tips to that AWESOME turkey advice, to how to make gravy, and I printed them all out and took them home. The counters were covered with COTH wisdom. DH wasn't sure what to think, he said "Um, how do you know how to make a turkey from a horse website?" I was like "No sweetie, you don't understand, these are my friends.
Everything went perfectly, the food was amazing, and I was so proud of Turkey Tom that I didn't want to eat him! Seriously, DELISH! And moist and perfect
The only "oops" we had all day was when I, um, sort of left the non-oven-safe thermometer in the oven in the turkey for just a minute too long. It melted. Don't worry, not on the turkey, but the insides melted. Tried to unscrew it to check the battery, and it went smoosh. Good thing we had a spare!
So thank you, thank you, thank you! You guys were lifesavers, you made our day easy and relaxed and full of amazing food. That's what Christmas is all about, right?

My husband doesn't get it either and I take constant chiding for it.
But so glad it all went well and that you had a great Christmas!

Nice work! Glad it went well for you!
A good horseman doesn't have to tell anyone...the horse already knows.
Might be a reason, never an excuse...
