FWIW - I go on a road trip with an auto magazine every year. Friends of mine were given an F-150 Harley Davidson truck and a Raptor to drive on behalf of Ford. When my car broke down, they opted to tow with the HD, not the Raptor. And that's "dead" cargo as opposed to live cargo. Raptor just isn't set up for towing.

Either way you look at it, I am going to agree that a half ton is too small for your load. It's not pulling, it braking. This coming from the person who has hauled way, way over the limit with an F150 for years, and count myself lucky for never experiencing anything worse than a trailer tire blow out at interstate speeds.

Love my Fords. Currently have a F250 super duty. If I bought another for work I could go no less, possibly more. F 150s are great, probably get better gas milage then my V10, but if you haul any weight, which I do, the suspension on the 150 wont hold up. And yes I am small but thankfully live in a small town where everyone knows me, and being a life time farmer, everyone is used to seeing me in a huge truck, and I dont get any flak.
Where people run into problems with pulling trailers is about weight. Make sure you have propper gross vehicle weight per your load. Its about saftey.
