Default Searching for 2013 Prospect. Suggestions?

    Hello!
I'm on the market for a 2013 upper level prospect focusing in jumpers/eventing. I'm looking to do an inutero sale.
Do you guys have any suggestions?

Anyway, thanks in advance for your time!

I'm not sure that an upper level jumping prospect can also be an upper level eventing prospect - inasmuch that if you look at upper level eventers, they aren't bred the same as upper level jumpers. I guess that what I'm trying to say is that for a jumper I'd look at Holsteiners first and for eventers I'd look at Trakehners or TBs (or Trak x TB) first.

You're right, I guess I worded that funny. What I meant was I am not necessarily looking for a prospect that can excel at both, I would just like to see my options in either field.

Contact Last Laugh Farm. They have several nice prospects on the ground and I believe they have 6 foals coming in 2013. Several offspring from their breeding program have gone on to be successful in many different rings. Ellen and David are fantastic to work with and will make sure you find the perfect prospect.

When buying a jumper prospect, I would look at the dam first and foremost. Is she from a top producing sport family? What has she produced to date? Then secondly, I would look to who she is bred to.

You will find quality mares at both large farms and small breeders ... but that is where I would start.

This is a good time of year to look at in-uteros; my only advice would be if you find something you like, not to hesitate on making the purchase! I offered 3 foals for sale in-utero for next year and 2 have already sold. I've also seen an increased interest over the last 10 days on inquiries on the third foal. I'm not sure why, but historically this is the time of year that I sell the most in-utero foals, and this year has been no exception. You'll probably have a ton of leads from this thread and I bet you find something very nice that you will love!

For an eventing foal: I came across this farm while web surfing and have bookmarked it for my own future purchases I'm very impressed with their horses, and even more so with the success of the now competitive adult horses they have bred.

Folks, let's please keep in mind the 'no advertising' rules on this forum. OP is allowed to ask in generalities for suggestions for sources for prospects, but not specifics. Individual breeders are not allowed to discuss specific horses they have for sale. General suggestions about farms or websites posted by others are fine.

    Thanks! Mod 3

You could also look at Witsendeventing for an eventing foal.
