Sunday, split a pitcher of margaritas with a friend.
Monday, wine + made a punchbowl full of my grandma' famous Southern Comfort punch (this is orange juice concentrate, lemonade concentrate, 7up, and a fifth of Southern Comfort...perhaps a bit, ahem, strong, but good for large family gatherings ).
Today, I took it easy and stuck with just the wine.

I always wanted to spice up family gatherings by spiking the sweat tea with seagrams sweet tea....

New Year is coming soon.
That is a good time to let your inner drinker go at it without guilt, I think?

Budweiser as usual. But my girl friend and I polished off a bottle of RumChata with root beer while baking cookies Saturday. Funny thing, the early cookies turned out better than the latter, lol!

A strong Baileys and coffee on the ride over to the family's house (i know, probably not strictly legal, but i was a passenger not driving!). Then just one dos equiis at the house with dinner.
MrB's fam doesn't really drink!
Now, we're headed to key west tomorrow to spend new years with my family.... we do it up a bit different!! There's a bet going whether my parents will offer us wine/mimosas/charlestinis/cosmopolitans before our suitcases have been set into the rooms or before we've unbuckled our seat belts......
MrB's attempt at talking like a horse person, "We'll be entering in the amateur hunter-gatherer division...."

Glogg! I steeped some orange peel, cinnamon sticks, and a few cloves in vodka for 24 hours, added 1/4 cup sugar and a bottle of red, mixed in a saucepan over low heat, and a voila! Tasty Christmas nightcap. This, of course, followed the pre-dinner Piper Heidsieck and the with-dinner cab.

My SIL is a wine lover, so she always has something out and ready for each main course. Christmas Eve was a butter Chardonnay and a crisp Pinot Grigio for our fish soup.
A really tasty Spanish Cava before Christmas dinner, with cheese (Brillat Savarin--so ripe and runny...,mmmm!), then Cabernet from Walla Walla, WA with our rib roast. Glogg my DD made for her dad for after dinner.

Wine. Lots and lots of wine.
Head hurts today.
It may seem like I'm interested in what you're saying, but in my mind a bipedal wolf is chopping down a totem pole while yelling "BO-RING, BO-RING, BO-RING."

My beloved Bota Box of Redvolution was my side kick in the kitchen all day... DH had whiskey coffee then switched to beer later in the day. We had a very low key day-I usually have a better bottled wine for the holidays but no point when it's just me.

This year, my sister introduced the family to a concoction called "Grinch Punch," essentially a mixture of lime juice, vanilla ice cream, sprite, pineapple juice and rum. Glasses were rimmed with decorative green sugar for a festive touch.
BIL made mudslides with vodka, kahlua and bailey's irish cream....dangerous stuff, chocolate milk for adults.
Christmas dinner always features a German reisling in honor of the family heritage, most of the time Schmitt Sohne
