    Default Girl name suggestions

Okay CoTHers, here is the problem: DH and I can't agree on girl names. We don't know yet what we are having, I'm only 18 weeks. But the crazy mommy hormones are making me want to at least have a couple girl names we both agree on. We are set with boy names we like. I actually have to meet my babies before I name them because I almost gave DD a name that didn't suit her at all. DD has my mom's maiden name, and DS has a very traditional name. Both sides of the family have been well covered with the first two, so no obligations.

I love names that have an "L" in them or a hard "C". DH is Swedish and I am a little bit of everything. Help out the crazy pregnant lady, please! Something not trendy, classic, a name they can carry proudly through life as a doctor, not a name that should come with a stripper pole on their 16th b-day!

Stripper pole lol! Well I've always liked the name Ryder for a girl or boy, buuut maybe not because of that!

I have two cousins in Denmark named Tilda and Astrid(The 'D' is silent) that I think are nice.

    Congrats!

My girl name choice was Avery. Love it. However, I had two boys and am done with kids, so it didn't get used.

Our top choices were Allison and Amanda. (Well, Summer was my first choice, but even while pregnant I just knew DD was not a Summer. I still love the name though.) Noelle, Rachel? I really like Philippa - but DH did not.

We were the opposite and had a list of 6 girl names we both liked and no boy names at all - and we went for the surprise- so I think I was at 38 weeks before we chose a boy name.

Good luck! I agree that you need to meet the baby to see if the name fits. I didn't decide til the next day- they kept pushing me for a name after she was born and I just wanted to make sure it was the right name. We eventually found names that just felt right. When the baby is moving and kicking you start to get a good feel for their personality and my mind changed in that time period.

    Have fun!

We're planning on Rileigh if it's a girl the next round. It' pretty decided although we can't decide on middle names(we need 2).

Genvieve. I just love it, also like how it has many nicknames, kiddo could go by Ginny, Eve, Vivvy, Gen.

Astrid is nice, I also like Hazel
