My hubby is a beer snob – and we live in an area where many “craft brews” are available.

I have learned that I enjoy Porters, some Stouts, basically I like a strong beer, with minimal bitterness. So some hops are okay if they are very floral, with not too much bitter. I really enjoy a good “roasted” flavor, hence porters, and especially some porters or stouts with coffee.

As for specific beers – here are some that I will always order if they are on tap (all are from California):

Ballast Point - Victory At Sea Coffee Vanilla Imperial Porter (OMG SO good!)
Speak Easy – Butchertown (“strong ale” – really nice hoppy, black, rich and smooth!)
    Speak Easy – Payback Porter
North Coast - Old Rasputin Russian Imperial Stout (rich and not bitter)
Stone Brewing – 12-12-12 Vertical Epic (Winter porter with spices)
    Drakes – Drakonik Stout

I also enjoy whit beers on a nice summer day! Can’t go wrong with Hoegaarden.

I love Blue Moon, any Mexican beer with lime (XX), and right now I am really enjoying a mini keg of Newcastle. I have, however, raised a complete beer snob. My 22-year-old son drinks pricey beer that comes in four packs. That's okay w/ me, if he can afford it - beats Natural Light!

Domestic: Shiner Bock (my dog is named Shiner Bock)

Foreign: Frueh Koelsch (no pet will probably be named this, bc that would be a little tough to holler in the woods)

Running dangerously low and kind of concerned how new years weekend is going to go given the sorry state of the rations. Willing to provide blank check for restocking purposes.

Will try to fit an extra case, or at least a six pack... mmm. Shiner.

I just started drinking beer in the past year or so, and am definitely going to check out some of everyone's favorites.

Hubby always has some Miller Lite in the fridge, but I'm quite partial to Blue Moon and Killian's. Some of the heavier beers are a bit much for me, but I'm willing to try just about anything!

Tried a new beer last night at dinner and found a new favorite!

DuClaw Sweet Baby Jesus Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter! I was skeptical, but it was like a liquid Reese's cup - SO GOOD! Now to find it in stores
