    Default Did you ride today?

    How was it?

Had one of those great hacks where you feel like everything is going right—light, responsive horse, empty and quiet ring. Heavenly!

    Heck yes I rode!
I rode the beef in the double. He could've been more through but not awful. We finished with trot Halts off the seat an the curb in my outside hand.
Rode H on the trail. He really gave a good gallop on the final stretch.
Santa didn't being me a horse this Christmas because he couldn't find a horse better than the Ones I already have.

Yes! All by myself - quiet barn with a happy and attentive horse. Worked on suppleness, bending through big round circles, and cantering ground poles in a very relaxed manner. It was wonderful.

Nope. Too much icy snow on the ground, and Lucky was MORE than happy to give it a miss.

Nope. Poured down rain ALL day here. And I was happy to pick my excuse after 3 days in a row of all horses being good.

Now if Santa had brought me an indoor I might be telling another story!

No. The ring was too wet, and the field is still off limits since it's pretty chopped up since the GM clinic. So I went out to feed the mare her beep and pellets and had the barn all to myself - it was so nice and quiet.

No. It was too wet and is still raining. Spent time with friends and ate too much.

I rode yesterday afternoon and it was a great experience for my young one. Neighbors on one side were shooting, neighbors across the street had a touch football game going on, and people were walking on the road in front (the road is screened by a line of trees and brush so people can be heard but not seen - except for brief flashes when they quickly appear and then disappear). He did a great job of working through all the distractions.

Today I piddled around until it was too late to ride.

Heck NO!!! Wind chill about 10 degrees and a wind blowing so hard you could hardly walk to the barn!!! If I DID manage to get on a horse...we would have been blown three states away!! Our Indian Summer is gone!!

Went yesterday. Finally snowed so went for a hack/gallop in the back fields. Was awesome! Today didn't get up early enough. Will go tomorrow.

I rode. It was wonderful to have the barn and arena all to myself. Worked on lots of transitions and figures.

I rode! My horse is back at school, but my trainer asked me if I wanted to go for a Christmas morning trail ride on his horses =) Couldn't have asked for a better way to start the day!

Yes. It was 75 degrees and a bit overcast so amazing weather. Rode 2 horses before dinner. Just nice short hacks.

Yep, I had a nice relaxing ride on the new project in the barn. He was awesome and it was nice to have as much time as I wanted to work on things. No need to rush off to work or home.

Wish I could have! It's been raining all week here. We had a sunny day yesterday, but the horses were all too pent up and wild to ride. Hoping to sneak one in tomorrow or Thursday!
