Unhappy I lost my cat tonight

My cat, Esme, was totally fine all day today and now she's gone :'( I just can't believe it. She was only 8. We buried her under my parents' bird bath. She always liked looking out there. I'm just so sad. It's my first animal loss. I put her tag on a necklace I wear everyday. She was so sweet. She didn't act like a normal cat. She slept with me and she always waited for me at the door.

I just can't help but think I should have done something. All her presents are under the tree. I know no cat can ever replace her because she was my first pet who lived with me but I've already decided that I'm going to rescue another cat. I can't bear the thought of an empty apartment :'( what a crummy Christmas.

So sorry. Don't beat yourself up. Cats can be stoic. Or it may have been sudden.

Oh, I am so sorry. Losing a pet is horrible. I have been crying off and on today because I miss my Big Fuzzy Dog so much, and we lost him at Thanksgiving. Big hugs.

    many hugs to you.

it's been 5 years now, at least, since I lost my heart kitty.
A couple of weeks before Christmas, in the middle of family turmoil.

    No cat can replace her.
but I have now three that try their darndest to keep me entertained.

When the time is right, Esme will send you a little kitty angel to warm your heart again.

many hugs to you and jingles.

Oh, I am so sorry, Esme is such a special name.. She must have been a special cat. It is so hard to be able to do nothing about it, isnt it?

I am so sorry your heart is hurting.

Perhaps donating her presents to an animal shelter under her name will help. And I agree, nothing helps heal a broken heart faster than a purrin' kitteh

Hugs, never easy to lose a pet. Agree with the others, when the time is right another kitty will arrive to help heal your heart.

I am so sorry for your loss. It's never easy but it's especially heartbreaking when they are so young.

I'm so very sorry. I am still grieving the loss of the light of my heart, my darling Basenji, Ellie, over three months ago, so my heart is hurting with you and for you. Many hugs.
