I need to submit a pic of my very naughty mare...today's antics required a call to the vet. In a matter of seconds, she did amazing acrobatics to get under her stall guard and grab a bag which should have been completely out of her reach. She ate...five Ms. Pasture's cookies, four completely wrapped peppermints, three carrots and two ziploc bags....btw when I said that to the vet he finished it with ...and a partridge in a pear tree?

So now I am doing the poop check looking for plastic. Naughty pony!

My BO made me laugh the other day. Bird, my aforementioned Shetland in a TB gelding's body, is turned out in the indoor when it is too icy to go out and has been repeatedly reprimanded for pulling down all the coolers hanging over the gate. This time he took it a step further by pulling the saddle they use for backing the babies off the rack and upending the can full of longing whips. My BO gave him hell and, as she was putting the saddle back on the rack and all the whips back into the can, said, "He knows he's not supposed to do this." I guess most of the other horses wouldn't dare to do this a second time after being yelled at by the BO, but Bird hadn't heeded the message.

What I need to take a photo of is the calculating look he gets when he's spying on me and my mare in the crossties, and kind of hunkers down in his stall so he's half hidden and his eyes are barely above the top of the stall door, so he can see but not be noticed.

No pictures, but on Saturday, my TB managed to pull his blanket off the stall door, where it was hanging while I was tacking him up. That's not so bad, but then he managed to get his front legs completely tangled in it. I tried very hard not to have a panic attack, but he stood calmly while I extracted him from the blanket.

Then there's the time I turned my back on him while he was tied in the aisle for literally ten seconds, and he climbed into a wheelbarrow- all 16.2 hands of him. Thankfully, he carefully stepped back out of it. I think my BO and I both had a stroke watching that one!
