    It helped that they had stirrups, which I think they invented. Kids are literally riding alone, at extremely young ages, so "born in the saddle" is a huge help in developing horse skills.

    They are awesome riders, and yes, I believe the stirrup comment is correct.

    well, I think they are strapped to the saddle early on, but yeah, you survive that, it becomes as natural as walking!

    They were also masters of deception and in the logistics of moving an army of 100,000 horses long distances with minimal "horse wastage."
